A year later...

So its been a very very long time since I last did a post and lots has changed, mainly we are no long Teddy & Moomin 'Does America!'
The American tale ended in December of 2012... so I wanted to finish the story with a few belated posts for last year.  We luckily got to explore a little bit more of the USA.

In April we took another trip to NYC always good fun!  This time with family, Mama Moomin, David, Simone & Alan visited.  This time we did the Empire State building which was awesome the views are amazing... I bought a Christmas bauble in the gift store as a souvenir and then proceeded to loss it :(

The Wild Wild West

We spent the first night in the Mile High City (Denver), we went to the oldest restaurant in town 'Buckhorn Exchange'. We had alligator tail for starters, for mains Teddy had elk & ostrich steak and I had buffalo steak & lamp chop. Elk was definitely the best... you can tell you are in cowboy country with all the hunting trophies on the walls!

A little road trip up to the mountains

Breckenridge - first time skiing.  We really enjoyed skiing and the photos really don't do the mountains justice but it was just too cold to take the camera out on the ski lifts!

We loved Colorado and I can't wait to go back maybe in summer next time.  Its so beautiful, very friendly and relaxed - I actually wish I could go live there!

At the weekend

I have dropped my Saturday shift at work and its sooo lovely to be off.  This past Saturday we took a walk into town and then along the river... there are two little parks along the river side which were very nice. We came across these greek style statues which were pretty cool.  Then we stopped off at a cafe and tried some duck rillettes which was delicious!

Superbowl Snacks

Today was Superbowl Sunday we decided to stay home and watch the game... so Russell cooked up some man food to have while watching it. His team (Patriots) lost :( but the spicy turkey legs were yummy.

On the Tyne

My desktop picture is a view of the Tyne, people at work were admiring it today... they thought it was somewhere exotic! it inspired me to post photos from last year when we were home :)

Once Upon A Time In America

Teddy was excited to take a shot of the Manhattan Bridge like the famous one in Once Upon A Time In America, we were lucky - the light was just right when we got there.
